National Grid place graduates into two programmes within their business, a commercial scheme, as well as a technical scheme. The beauty of National Grid placements is that they will look to get you onto a programme first, and then tailor your learning based around your skills, experiences, and qualifications towards your desired job role.
There are specific degree disciplines required for both schemes, with the technical scheme requiring mainly engineering qualifications, with a performance of at least 2:2 having been achieved. National Grid graduate scheme placements last for 18 months.
Talk positively about a horrid boss! National Grid will ask about a negative interaction with a previous manager, be it a conflict or a time when you received a piece of negative feedback. Be sure to answer positively regarding what you learned from the situation, and how you would deal with it in future.
Remember a time you faced problems. Think of when you had a problem and had to quickly come up with a solution. You will be questioned on this and it will probably be a recurring theme throughout your National Grid career
