The length of BAE Systems’ graduate schemes differs. The graduate development framework programme lasts two years. This is BAE Systems’ standard programme and exposes graduates to placements and roles in both business and engineering.
The other leadership schemes are a lot more intense. Their Sigma scheme consists of at least three years of placements across the organisation, aiming to develop future leaders in their business and engineering sectors.
BAE Systems’ financial leadership scheme is their most intense, consisting of a five-year program. This scheme is designed for the highest quality candidates, who are looking to achieve a senior financial role early in their career.
Business and financial roles require a 2:1 degree in any discipline to be eligible to apply, while engineering roles require a related degree, from a scientific, numerical, or engineering field of study.
Understand the programme you have applied to. BAE Systems will explore your reasons for choosing the business and the specific programme. They will also look for your understanding of what your strengths and weaknesses are in relation to the area to which you have applied.
Think of something innovative you did. We are not talking an invention to present on “Dragon’s Den,” although you will be asked of a time you came up with an innovative solution to a common problem.
